PHF UPCOMING EVENTS

American Stamp Journalists Stamp Ceremony


A Stamp Issuance Ceremony for the upcoming "American Journalists" stamps will 
take place on the campus of the University of Arizona April 24th from noon-2pm.   
The focus of the event will be on the Ruben Salazar stamp, which is one of the 
five stamps in the commemorative pane. This stamp was issued due to the efforts 
of Tucson-based "Media, Democracy and Policy" a program at the Uof A Humanities 
Department. The PHF was one of the sites where signatures for this stamp were 
initially collected.   A special cancel and set of cachets will be be available 
for purchase at the issuance ceremony,  along with a beautiful, free commemorative 
program.

The Postal History Foundation Slusser Library will host a special exhibit on the 
life of Ruben Salazar from April 24th - June 1st. This will feature archival 
materials such as newsarticles, photos and personal papers. The exhibit is open 
Monday-Friday 8am-3pm or by appointment. Be sure to stop by to learn about this 
important American journalist who is now featured on a postage stamp!

Additional Salazar educational events will be taking place at various places
