The Arizona Capitol Museum in Phoenix recently opened an exhibit celebrating Arizona’s postal history entitled “Words from the West: Arizona Stories and Stamps”. This exhibit was a collaboration between the Slusser Library at the Postal History Foundation and the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records Division, and all of the material for the exhibit was supplied by the PHF. It illustrates Arizona’s colorful history using stamps, mementos and artifacts and shows how the postal service in Arizona contributed to the development of the State.
Entrance to the Arizona Capitol Museum is free of charge and the exhibit is scheduled to remain at the Museum throughout 2012. More information can be found on the Arizona Capitol Museum website: www.lib.az.us/museum.
