Teacher’s Letter

YES

September 2011

Dear Teacher,

Welcome back to the new school year. I hope you had a great summer and are ready to incorporate stamps into your classroom learning.

Students love our unique learning experience. Most of our lessons are curriculum based and a fun way to enrich your students' educational experience.

Points of Information:

  • I can supply worksheets and stamps and/or I can visit your classroom if you are in Tucson. Your choice! Teachers from out of the Tucson area may order lessons and stamps via my email address. Teachers from across the country order lessons and stamps from the PHF. The National Postal Museum orders stamps from the PHF for their children's programs.
  • Please send donations for postage reimbursement if we have to mail stamps to you.
  • Teachers may email me with any ideas and I will see if I have stamps to go with your plan.
  • Students may write letters to me anytime requesting stamps they need for reports and/or want for their collections.
  • For the List of Lessons go to the Education Menu and click on Classroom Lessons
  • Contact me at education@phftucson.org

Other services available:

  • Students may write us requesting stamps about topics they are interested in or about topics they need for reports and other assignments. This is a great way to practice letter writing!
  • Stamp Albums are available for students at no cost. Teachers can request stamps about different topics that are being studied in the classroom throughout the year and the students can add to their albums. Students may write letters requesting stamps for their stamp albums.
  • Field Trips (local) - At $2 per student, (teachers and chaperones free), we have a great field trip waiting for you here at the PHF. All you need is a few parents to drive your students here! Click on field trip information in the Youth Education section of our web site. Field trips include history, postal system, geography, writing, literacy, etc.
  • Stamp Treasure Chests (local) - There are over a dozen Stamp Treasure Chests in public libraries, classrooms, and school libraries. If several teachers in your school use stamps in the classroom, your library is a good place for a Stamp Treasure Chest.

We are a non-profit organization, IRS 501(c)3, dedicated to youth education and a free service to you! The Foundation is open to the public Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. We receive, sort and store millions of stamps and have a small museum, contract post office, and a research library which you are welcome to visit any time. All donations of stamps and money are tax deductible. Many organizations, families and tourists visit our foundation throughout the year and walk out amazed.

Please contact me if you want to take advantage of our free educational program. My email and phone number are below.

Have a great school year and I hope to see you in the classroom or at a community event!

Thanks for using stamps in the classroom!
